Ways to Help

help us make a difference

Home-Start Richmond was successful in bidding for the recent Achieving for Children Family Support Services contract, and from the 3rd October 2016 we will continue to offer our home-visiting service in Richmond borough as well as developing a similar service in Kingston borough. This service will build on our excellent track record in supporting young families in need.  From April 1st 2017 we merged with Home-Start Hounslow.

We have also received grants from the Barnes Workhouse Fund, Hampton Fuel Allotments Charity, Richmond Parish Lands Charity and The Heathrow Community Fund which support our work.

We also rely on donations from businesses, local government, organisations and individuals.

These enable us to support even more families in the boroughs of Richmond upon Thames, Kingston upon Thames and Hounslow who are struggling through difficult times, including loneliness and isolation, ill health, post-natal depression, disabilities, bereavement, relationship difficulties, lone-parenting and coping with several pre-school children.

For every £ you give:

  • 90p is spent on our charitable activities
  • 8p goes towards further fundraising efforts
  • 2p is spent on management and administration

How can Companies help?

By providing funding, your company could make a real difference to vulnerable families and children in Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow.  Supporting us gives a local focus for staff charitable activities and raises your profile in the community.

Local businesses could act as a sponsor or co-sponsor for a Home-Start event or activity such as our Designer Sales, Quiz Nights or Volunteer Thank you Lunch.

Your company could raise funds through sponsoring staff in organised sporting events such as the London Marathon or one of the many other charity runs, walks or cycle rides that take place throughout the year.

You can also encourage your employees to participate in workplace fundraising by organising events at work, such as a wine-tasting, lunch or dinner with a speaker or activity, running a Quiz Night, or organising sales of goods such as home-made crafts and Christmas gifts.  Companies may wish to match fundraising and double whatever employees raise.

You could help us by donating Raffle or Auction prizes, donating goods such as toys (for children aged 0 -5) or office equipment such as printers, ink cartridges and paper.

One-off monetary donations are of course particularly welcome or these could be in the form of a proportion of income or profit for a certain period, or a regular gift by Standing order.

How can Individuals help?

It is possible to make a private donation to Home-Start Richmond, through our Gift Aid scheme. If you are celebrating a special occasion or looking for an unusual present for someone who is difficult to buy for, perhaps a donation to Home-Start would make the perfect gift. It is also possible to offer support to our Scheme through Legacies and Memorial Gifts.
